Safe awning maintenance

Good maintenance not only makes your awning look as good as new, but it significantly extends its lifespan, especially in coastal areas where humidity and salt are present.

Regular cleaning and care

Cleaning the canvas

For regular cleaning, simply vacuum or gently brush the dry dust. If there are stains, use warm water and mild soap with a soft brush. Never use high-pressure water, harsh detergents or solvents, as they will destroy the canvas's protective treatment.

Complete drying

It is crucial never to retract the awning if it is wet. If you had to retract it wet due to a sudden storm, open it as soon as the sun comes out so it can dry completely before storing it again. This prevents the appearance of mold.

Mechanism maintenance

Articulated parts and guides require little maintenance. Plastic components and tension cables should not be greased, as the grease attracts dust and ends up clogging the mechanism.

Weather precautions

The awning is a sun protection element, not an umbrella. Always retract it in case of heavy rain, snow or strong winds. Climate sensors are the best investment to protect your installation without having to constantly monitor the weather.
